How do I remove a "paid" collections account

Unfortunately, I didn't do my research about how to remove collections accounts prior to paying my collection account. So now the question is, how do I resolve this?

I have had communication with the collection agency over the phone and paid the account so if I dispute requesting requesting proof of everything then it doesn't matter does it?

    What's to dispute?
You paid it, so it must have been both yours and valid.
    Case closed.

Your challenge now is to find some way to get the CRA to remove it (e.g. if there is something wrong with the information that is listed in your credit report)

Or just wait 7 years for it to fall off.

Yes there was something wrong. The date which was delinquent was invalid...

you could start by disputing that with the CRA.

The CA could correct it (most likely) or they could delete it (not likely, but not impossible, either).

You never know until you try.
