Because of my job, I move around frequently. Some of the addresses on my Credit Report are not even residences. Some are post offices. Some are residences, but the CR says they are business addresses. Lets assume I have used all the addresses in the past. How do I get all the old ones removed? Do many former address or many addresses that they report as current lower a person's credit score? Id like to remove addresses.
I cant answer all your questions but here is my experience: All were removed with a request, except Experian. They keep any address on file and report if linked to an account connected to it. Meaning you got an auto loan 6 years ago and you lived at 123 main st. this address was reported by a creditor and remains as long as the account does. Experian is the only one who has done this to me. The FTC was unable to help me.
Ugh, that's true about old addy's linked to accounts won't die until the account goes. Sometimes ya can get rid of them, but sometimes when da creditor updates, they pop up again. And noppers, your addresses gots nothin to do with your score. The stuff in the personal section of yer report have nothing to do with your score.
Well, if the address is not a valid address, but a furnisher of information is providing it, that must mean that the tradeline contains inaccurate information.
Here is my problem: I had a account in good standing, paid and closed, from a finance company. It was due to be removed 2006. In 2005 I disputed the address and TU and EQ removed the account. EXP. verified it, re-dated it, and it says it will remain untill 2015. The finance company says by phone, they did not verify it and havent reported on it since 1999. Experian refuses to re-investigate since it was previously verified in 2005. So I get to live with it an extra 9 years if they have their way. Every account I have ever disputed with Experian has been redated by them.
