How many times should you contact a creditor or a collection agency in an attempt to have them remove negative items on CR's? How much harassment can you get away with before they act out against you?? What shouldn't you say to them??

If you are trying to get things removed from your credit reports, you should dispute with the credit bureaus. What is it you are discussing with the collector or creditor?

The credit bureaus have verified the information (or so they claim!). Since verification, I have contacted the creditor to discuss why I dispute the item and to have them remove the items, as I feel they are either completely bogus or filled with errors.

I have pointed out to them (more than once) that they are in violation of the FCRA and this could lead to a lawsuit being filed against them (more of a threat that I WILL sue them). I have also faxed a copy of the complaint I have filed with the FTC. I did this to prove that I will take action if they do not resolve this matter.

I just sent out a validation letter today, so I will not be contacting them again, unless they do not respond.
