    Discover?
I called them today and the only thing they would tell me is that I had to make at least 15 k a year which isn't a problem. But I want to know their other criteria before I go for it. I used to have a Discover card in college which I was never delinquent on but I decided to sign up for a ccc like place for like 2 months till I found out they weren't paying my bills and cancelled it immediately. However, the minute I signed up for it Discover closed the account due to that reason and no other. What kind of score do you think I need, I know have a 621 on equifax but not sure on tu or experian. I also am worried about who they will pull. Anyone know for KCMO?
    thanks

Discover took my wife around 650 on CE..She was approved online on the spot..I had the wait message more or less..I have a higher score than her and got less cash but a better APR at 14.99% hers was 16.99% at 6k limit..Let me tell you it is like pulling teeth to get that lowered and they wont budge one bit..

I got a Discover card as my first credit card at 19, when I was a college kid with no real income (waaaay less than 15K/year) and absolutely no credit history. So to me it doesn't seem that hard to get, but IMO it's not that great a card. My APR was always 19.99 and like Bill B said they never wanted to lower it. I finally closed it out this past May when they wanted to raise the interest rate to 21.99! Also, my cashback bonus for the $1800 balance was a whopping six bucks. The moral of this rambling story is that you could probably get the card, but why would you want to?

Ditto on the why would you want it. I've had it a couple of times and each time they raise my limit the interest rate goes up. I ended up with a 6000.00 limit and a 21% interest rate. I paid them off sent a letter through planert feedback saying how bad I think they are and they didn't even respond. Worst card in the world!!!!

Discover sucks.I just did a 3500 BT and I am done with them. A few months ago I asked for a CL increase and they pulled a hard one on me and gave me a measley 750 bucks, goodbye DISCOVER.

I'M HOLDING OUT FOR $5,500 INCREASE WITH-OUT A CREDIT REPORT...at this current time, they are losing about $900.00 per week...YES THAT WAS $900.00 PER WEEK.

$50,000/year...I SURE HOPE THEY GET A LOT OF MONEY FROM OTHER CUSTOMERS, BECAUSE THEY WILL GET NOTHING FROM ME.
I ALSO ASKED FOR THE 1.70% BT...THEY SAID I CAN APPLY FOR ANTHER ACCOUNT WITH THE 1.70% BT...BUT THEY CAN'T REDUCE WHAT I HAVE, AND THEY WON'T TRADE (AND THEY WILL PULL A CREDIT REPORT)!!!

I STILL WONDER WHY THEY ARE CREDIT REPORT "PULL" HAPPY???

Same reason that they still haven't reported for August/September on my credit reports that I paid them off completely.....to keep my score down so they can keep my APR up due to my score that isn't going down because they haven't reported...........

Yeah, I'm afraid to dispute the current balance because knowing how stupid the CRA's are they remove the whole tradeline. Guess I'm going to have to call Discover. It's really holding up my score as I saved about $3000 and transferred $2000 more when they refused to lower the APR. That's $5000 off of my account! I can only imagine the difference that would make to my FICO score since $3000 of it came directly out of pocket.
