How long do CRA's keep addresses on file?

    I'm new (so be kind!)
I recently ordered my credit reports and found addresses that I lived at 15 years ago on there as well as family members addresses listed as my own. I attempted to dispute these and received a letter from each agency stating "we store address information as it is sent to us by your credit grantors or from public records. This is historical information and will remain on file."

Do addresses remain on file (even if inaccurate) forever or is there something I could try doing to make corrections?

    Thanks,
    Jennie

I think you've got "each agency" confused with Experian alone. Equifax and Trans Union will delete them per your request that they are inaccurate or obsolete.

Experian will not address them albeit illegal under the auspices of the FCRA.

Agreed, as an example, on my wife's TU report recently, a very old address popped up, and was removed in less than 24 hours after removal request.
