how long does a bank have to report you to chex systems after you are done banking with them? i just was denied an account... the account listed on chex is from 12/01... however it as just reported last week.
It can be up to seven years. I had 2 accounts with 1 bank and they reported me. I closed one account and cleared up the other. Two years later, I tried opening a savings account and the bank wouldn't allow it even though I still have a good account that I've never been overdrawn on. The banker said it takes 7 yrs, but did say I could take it up with the company (not chex systems, but a similiar company).
