Hello, I know that Bk's can stay on your CR for 10 years from dof, I was under the impression that all CRA's take chap 13's off after 7 years? Does anyone know about this? The reason I'm asking is because I have 2 Bk's. A 7 and 13. The 7 shows up on all my CR but that is falling off in abt 5 months. The thing with the 13 is it's only showing up on 1 CR. It too, falls off in about 1 year. I was just so happy when I thought it was only the one Bk left showing and that was coming off so soon but now I find the 13 showing on Equafax and only them. Question: Do you think Equafax will delete it for me if I ask nice? Do they ever "bend" the rules and is it their policy to report all BK's until the very last possible moments? Which CRA's are the easiest to deal with and which one is the hardest? Thank you everyone, jane.
Hi, Jane...bk13-deleted 7 years from EX and TU, EQ says 10 years ONLY if dismissed. If discharged, EQ will remove in 7. Are there any inaccuracies in the bk13 listed at eq for you?

Equafax is showing that my BK 13 was dismissed so I guess there's no hope of that coming off sooner. Do you think they will delete it 3 months before it's actually supposed to come off? I know a CRA told me one time that they start purging stuff off within the 3 months it's supposed to come off. On the Bk 7, Equafax is showing a BK 7 filed in Oct, 1994 which is correct. Then they list a Bk 7 filed in Feb, 1995. Same reference #'s for both BK 7's. The thing is, my Chap 7 was discharged in Feb, 1995 not another one filed. It looks as if I have 2 chapter 7's on my equafax. Should I call tomorrow and ask for immediate delete??? Experian and TU are both also reporting incorrectly re; these BK's. Thanks again, Jane
Re: Re: How long for BK 13? Ok, the date you want to focus on is the date you filed (not discharged) on BK 7. I would not call..but send CRRR with "I never had a bk7 filed on XXXXX. Please delete" I start working on deletions for such things 6 months before they are to come off. Ok, actually, I'd put in a dispute now anyway on the 13...but serious disputing 6 months before 10 years. So, your assets and liabilities, every little detail is correct on the 13? And, was it dismissed in reality?
Re: Re: Re: How long for BK 13? Equifax removed my husbands at the 7-year mark, and it was dismissed. He didn't dispute it, it just fell off after 7 years.
