how long should accounts be open

    Just wondering how long an account should be open I have a 1st nat bank of marin account for 11 months now and they charge alot so after a year should I close it ?

    "THEY" say you get a "BUMP" in the score at one year, two years, and three years...so if you want to close it at one year...ask for the fees charged to be credited...
    Get a NO FEE card...(many are available).

    Many will ask, how many other accounts do you have? Do you have other accounts with longer histories (open longer)? Will you need this CL to fall back on in the near future (possible job change, move)?
    And, have you called the company to remove the fee?
    Just a start?
