Anyone know how long it takes the CRA to update a trade line after they receive a letter from the OC to remove the derogs?

Anywhere from right now to whenever they feel like it. It can take up to 90 days. Sometimes you can hurry the process along by disputing the items with the CRAs. Although, sometimes when you do that, the item comes back verified (what a surprise -- NOT!) and you have to dispute it again and again, so it can still take up to 90 days.

    Sandie,

    That's a $64000 question.

Sometimes the corrections are made within a day or two. Sometimes it takes a week or two.

Sometimes they don't make the corrections at all and you have to keep after them to finally do what they should do.

Sometimes they put the item in dispute again when you contact them and then they go through the 30-day process of contacting the creditor again. (Hopefully the creditor will tell them to delete.)

Is all of this a bit maddening? You bet it is!

If you mailed the deletion info to the CRA yourself and have a return receipt, you've got some proof that they do have the info. If not, you may have to do just that and then follow up in a week or so with a phone call.

In my personal experience, the reports are eventually corrected, but sometimes getting there can be a headache.

Hope this helps a bit anyway.

    Hi
If its any concellation, after I mailed proof from the ca that the tradelines should be deleted equifax and transunion removed them within the 30 days if not sooner. In fact I got updated reports from equifax the same day I recieved the grren card back proving I sent them something....
    Good luck

The fastest way to get this updated is if they sent you a copy of the letter, fax it to the cra's. It usually takes only a few days to update once they receive it by fax.
