Any advise what is the optimum period of time to apply for the next credit card? What should be the time period between 2 hard inquires in order to not negatively affect credit score? How much of the credit score points takes 1 hard inquiry? Thanks, Denny
Depending on the size of your overall report ... anywhere from 3 points to 10 points per inquiry. Thinner files get affected more. FICO on their website claim that inquiries older than 6 months do not have any effect on the scoring algorithm -- so I guess you can apply after 6 months again.

I have been getting good "B" lately using the PG 5 pulls a day trick. 8 hards removed from TU all over 6 months old, no change in score. 5 hards removed from EQ all over 6 months old, no change in score. I have a hard from Oct 22 on TU that I am trying to get B on before it is 6 months old, so I can see how it effects my score. Even if having them fall off does not help you score, I think it looks better in a manual review if you have 2 hards instead of 11.

I have tried to find out exactly what you folks are talking about with the inquiries and pulls you are doing. Why do you pull your report every day and how does this help to delete or reduce your hard inquires. What does "B" mean exactly, and what is the proceedure to deleting hard inquiries from my report. B stands for the same thing that this post does in the forum... *BUMPAGE* Basically, the way that it is supposed to work is -- there are only room for so many inq's on your credit file, hard ones count against you, soft ones don't... so if you overflow the report with soft inq's, you can make the hard inq's spill out of the report and onto the digital floor...

I called them about two weeks ago aqnd told them that I hadn't consented to any of the inquiries. They deleted all four immediately. Of course, as you say, YMMV. freedomseeker
