Ok, assuming everything goes ok with this stupid bankruptcy, and the trustee really turns out not to be satin incarnate, how long do I have to wait before I can start doing something about my credit report?

Creditors have 60 days from the 341 meeting to contest your bk. After that date, you can start looking for your final discharge instructions. Some districts require you to appear before a judge for final discharge other districts with very high volume just send the discharge papers in the mail. Ypur lawyer can tell you how it is handled in your district.

I'm thinking that we won't have to go to court again, but don't quote me on that. I was told by several people that the trustee continues to monitor your affairs for 6 months (not that this makes any difference) but it seems that this would be pretty difficult for someone who is handling alot of cases. Do you think that by fall i can get started?

    Sweet,

I think the fall is reasonable. The trustee will tell you to inform him of any windfalls within a year. Inheirtance, win the powerball, etc. {Yeah right!} Unless it's a chapter 13, the trustee won't bother.
