Not sure if Cooke can deliver you a Plat. with a bk on file.

I tried two months ago and tho he tried it was a no go. I have one Cap 1 account currently a 3k cl , opened in 1996 with perfect payment history.

I filed bk-13 in 1996 and should be off my CR in 10/2003.

    Best regards,
    Mirage

    Hermit5,

Cap1 is tough to give out Platinium card. Cap1 gave him subprime term when he has perfect history. I think either they give you subprime term or denied. You just waste an inquiry.

Thats what I thought. They kept sending the pre-approved offer. So I finally bit. Probably be a $500 card. I dont understand why they send the pre-approved offers saying they appreciate me as a client . They know my scores so why even send a pre-approved offer for a platinum?

I myself have two -- a regular Cap One VISA classic (now $3200 LOC, at 9.9% fixed) and a Cap One K-mart MasterCard Gold (now $2700 LOC but $200 more LOC for K-mart purchases, at 11.9% fixed for purchases and 19.9% for cash advances). I would like to combine them, but so far they've consistently told me they can't combine the K-mart branded card with any other product.

LKH, my Platinum that I just got was a $325 limit...lmbo!

Anyway...I currently have four Cap One cards with a combined CL of $3,825 and last week received another guaranteed approval for another Platinum. I received another guaranteed Platinum offer today and will probably get that one since the offer is well outside the 45 day wait between accepting offers....so I know you can have at least five Cap One cards...lol.

    LKH,

Cap One sent me a total of 3 offers for that Platinum card, minimum CL $500, maximum CL $7500, annual fee $39. Of course, they issued me a $500 card, which incidentally I haven't received yet after almost a month.

I am convinced that I got the Platinum offer by turning down their cheesy gold card offer, with a $72 annual fee and a minimum CL of $300, if I recall correctly. Both offers were based on "our growing relationship with you," which means my classic Visa finally passed the 18 month mark (for gold) and the 2 year mark (for Platinum.)

Well, well, well. I received a "you are already approved" offer for the fantastic Kmart Gold card today. And it comes with a credit line of $500 - $5000, with 0% apr until October.

I'm guessing that the credit limit will be a lot closer to $500 than to $5000. No reflection on you, of course. It's just that Cap One has a habit of being mildly deceptive, because they really want you to return the application.

If I return the app and I get a measley $500, I will immediately call Mr. Cooke, and if I'm not satisfied, I'll cancel it. I've gotten good increases on my reg. gold card. And if they check my reports, they will see that I have several other cards with significant lines of credit. But, I may just hold out for the no hassle platinum card.
