How many online apps in a day?

    Just out of curiousity...

How many online credit card applications have you submitted in one day or even a week? I know too many inquiries drag your scores down, but I'm just curious by how much.

Also...were you instantly approved or got the dreaded "you'll receive a letter in the mail" message?

My roommate is about to toss Cap One out the door (she has perfect credit, 17 year credit history and a score of 705, but Cap One refuses to raise her credit limit...now at $400) and is interested in applying for new cards without damaging her credit too much. She already has a First Union/MBNA card.

    Thanks in advance!!

BTW the most ironic and hysterical thing about Cap One is they just gave my Mom a credit card with a limit of $3500 and she's two years post-BK.

inquiries: bad, yes, but you can selectively pick (www.millcbs) banks that dont overlap each other.

for instance, if one bank pulls TU for your area, apply, thats 1 TU inquiry. Then find a bank that only pulls experian, then one that pulls equifax only.

This effectively gives you 3 cards (in theory) and only 1 inquiry (per affiliate).

    I tend binge myself :)

Not sure what the problem is but if she is interested in dealing with Cap 1 I would PFB Mr. Cooke.

I shoot for a Target Visa or Citibank AA to apply online.

I myself apply for three cc in one weekend. Two approvals and one rejection. The rejection was from Household.

My roommate wrote Cap One via PFB. Someone called her to verify her information and told her they would call her back the next day with a decision. A week later she got a letter rejecting her for a credit increase because she had already received a recent increase (yeah...Cap One went from $300 to $400).

Needless to say....Cap One is out of the picture as soon as she can land another card or two.
