Does anybody know on average how many points a collection will deduct from your credit score(s) ? Thanks .
I just checked my scroe with Equifax through privacyguard.com . A collection on there that I sent a validate letter to is now missing (30 days later) . The score went up 7 points with the collection gone . Though I dunno if that is a good way to compare . The same CA is still reporting to TU and Exp , I just got done drafting a 2nd Validation letter to them . My first was delivered 30 days agi and signed for CMRR . I may wait a couple more days to see if it is removed before sending this letter out . If I get them to remove the TL , Im going after the OC to prevent it from showing again . In fact , I guess I should send a letter to the OC now ? I am new at this (sort of) and and been reading all I can but it gets hard to remember all of it

Adding a NEG. will take off more points than deleting one will add back on. Must be a restocking fee. L.O.L.
Re: Re: How many score points does a coll Nice , if they put something incorrect on there and it's removed ... it still hurts . Why has a class action suit not been brought up to stop the use of "scores" ?

Re: Re: Re: How many score points does a coll because that would make SENSE, thats why!!!!! LOL! "scoring" should be illegal because it is inaccurate. in the years i have been underwriting, i never trust a score to tell me if the customer is good risk. i have rarely had a loss occur on my files - even the ones that "score low".
Re: Re: Re: Re: How many score points d GEORGE get back over here. You're gonna let me catch up with you if you don't.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: How many score I will give him 500 of your post if he will come back to stay.
: Re: How many score 1*>LOL! Scoring like all other shell games and con jobs should be illegal. 2*Credit scores don't tell anyone what type of risk a customer may or may not be. 3*OK so if there is virtually no difference between losses on people with good scores and those with bad scores then what is the purpose of scoring?
: Re: How many score How many points will be deducted from your score once collection is posted depends on few factors: - amount sought to be collected - type of collection - which credit agency, etc EQ, TU, EX Your score can lower as many as 30-35 points, but if this is a medical bill type of stuff, lenders don't care much, especially A- and B/C Also, once you pay your collection, your score may go even lower initially, I guess guilt admittance Check'em out...
