I have outdated items and I am going to demand for deletion of those items. However, I was also thinking about getting validation of some other items. Should I send these items at the same time and who does the validation go to (credit bureau, collection agency, or original creditor)?
Send validation letters to the Collection Agencies CRRR. There are also modified versions of the validation letters to send to the Original Creditors. When you get the green card back from the post office and you know that they have your validation request in hand, send the disputes to the CRA's (Equifax, Experian, Trans Union) that are listing the items. I like to dispute with the CRA's online if I can so that I know the dispute will be entered into the system. For disputes, the magic number seems to be around 4 at a time (a couple more or less is ok too). For validation letters, send them all at once. Good Luck. -Peace, Dave
