i had a judgement for an eviction of my ex wife in the amount of 2147.00. when i went to pay this unknown judgement 9 months later i am being told that the amount i owe the apt complex is now 6000.00 is this allowed by law?
You need to get all the judgment paperwork from the court in question. They can likely only require you to pay the total amount of the judgment awarded by the court + statutory interest which varies by state. Why do you say it was $2147?
