I want to find out how much do the credit report agencies know about one`s life. Do they know how much that person earns, how much his rent is, how much money he has in his accounts? Or do they only know about your credit cards? Can they find out how much money you own them? Thanks a lot!
Yes they do know how much you owe, your credit limit etc... But I dont think they know how much you earn. You should consider ordering a copy of your credit reports, it's a good idea to check your reports at least once a year, everything in it is what they know about you. They know exactly what various institutions report about you. You should expect to see all your credit lines (cards, loans, etc) with limits, balances, late payments, etc... You could also see your salary, if your employer reports it (mine doesn't). Also, all addresses and jobs. And if you didn't pay your bills or bounced checks, that will also appear on the report Best thing would be to order your credit report from all three major bureaus and see for yourself
