Thank you to Marie who gave me a quick tutorial on CC and how they impact your score. Does anyone kinda know what derog's do? Meaning, new-1 yr old they count XXX over XXX they do XXX (I noticed that I sure am typing XXX alot! I better stop that or all of you are gonna get the wrong impression of me) And how does that effect you getting cc's, cars, loans etc. I have read about mortgages and everything being paid off. Does that include things that the SOL has expired on?
I take a stab at this. I had a charge-off removed from my EX last week. My CE score jumped 33 pts. from this deletion. I had this derog for 6 years now. In terms of applying for credit this derog has done more damage than my bk-13 as far as my FICO score is concern. I had this derog. removed from two of my CRA reports. So I think major derogs like charge-off are a big factor while small ones like a 30 day late is minor. Best regards, Mirage
I have a question. Most of my charge-off's are relatively new. I have some from 99,00, and a few they just put on. Do you reccommend waiting until the sol is up before you try to dispute? In TX its 4 years. I have read that some people just let them fall of their report because they are afraid if they dispute they will awaken "the giant(s)" and do worse damage?
