I am an engineer working in US; during my college I raked so many bills with my credit cards. I began paying all of it, and propose to pay them of, nevertheless. I am quite young and preparing to get settled soon, I am sure that my credit rating is low and that loan will be quite tough for me or any finance for even the essential stuff. So, I need suggestions on thisâ?¦. kindly help.
1. Get a copy of your credit report (www.annualcreditreport.com) 2. See which accounts, if any, are reporting late and dispute them to see if any change. 3. Pay down (or pay off) the balance on any accounts with outstanding balances as quickly as you can without crimping the essentials (food, housing, transportation). If you get too aggressive, you'll just get into another pickle. 4. Wait for things to improve score-wise. Even if you paid everything off, you'd still might have to wait a year or two for your score to really improve. 5. DO NOT CLOSE any accounts. That will have a negative effect. Good luck!
