How should I handle this situation?

I signed up for the Fleet Cash Rebate card online and was approved a month or so ago. I received the card and have been using it under the impression that I have been making something back on my purchases. I check Experian and Equifax and they both listed my account as closed by creditor, which confused and worried me because I regulary use the card. I called up Fleet and asked the CSR what card I am listed under. She said that it said I was in the program, and yet at the same time I'm not. I think that is why it says the account was closed by the creditor - Fleet majorly screwed up. I am going to call back tomorrow during normal hours, but what can I tell them? Can I demand my cash rebates, or will they not listen to me? They misled me, and at this point I don't even know what card I am under. I hate Fleet so much, I think I'm going to apply for the American Express Platinum Cash Rebate Card.

I would contact Fleet this morning and ask them what card they assigned you. Ask them why the credit bureaus are reporting your Fleet account as closed by creditor? See they do not have you assigned under their Rebate Card tell them that is the card you applied for and have been making constant purchases because you thought you would receive a cash back reward. Fleet's customer service is the worst so I would probably ask to be transferred to a supervisor if necessary. Be polite, but be firm. I hope everything works out.
