Ok, its not really a big deal, but its the POINT of the matter. I opted out of PRM's a couple of months ago. It even says so on my CR's from Creditwatch. Well this morning, there it is, a big fat PRM from Centex Home Equity. What would you do?
Boiling Oil Works Nicely... Always try Triazicide Bug Killer, Kills 120+ Pests. Thought I saw CSC on there...
From Experian's AskMax Q&A: "Your name will be excluded from future lists compiled by CRAs, but it may be several months before you notice a significant reduction in the volume of offers you receive. Thatâ??s because your name may be on lists already being processed when you opt out." "It can take several months from the time a list is compiled to the time an offer reaches your home. In addition, offers sometimes are not mailed by lenders or credit card providers for many months after a list is compiled, so you occasionally may receive an offer after a much longer time." "You also may continue to receive offers from independent lenders or from lists not compiled by CRAs. You will need to contact those organizations directly and ask to be removed from their mailing lists." Bottom line: Opting out is not a quick fix.
George, I had three promos for credit cards sent to me with my SSN printed on them. NOT what I like to see happen. Also, some dumb ass mortgage company sent me a refinance offer in the format of a postcard with my SSN printed on it for everyone to see. No promos for me. PawMix
Re: Re: How Should I torture CSC? Until ME and 7 million other people COMPLAINED the IRS had your SS# ALL OVER THE PLACE TOO (FOR THE MAILMAN/WOMAN TO SEE)...
Re: Re: How Should I torture CSC? I have NEVER seen any CREDIT PROMO with a SS# on it...ONLY IRS REFUND CHECK and THE IRS TAX BOOK... Guess I have been lucky...
Re: Re: How Should I torture CSC? Or we just had bad luck. One way or the other, I am staying away from promos for now, especially that we have all the cards that we need, with decent limits and we are NOT applying for any credit until we pay off the balances. PawMix
