Amazing how since I have closed down four accounts of my retail accounts, about 10 days ago, 2 have already responded favorably. Mervyns thanked me for being such a great customer since 1995 (never used the account) and that if I ever wanted to to reopen this account, call them and they will send out a new card. BP Oil also thanked me and asked me to reconsider them in the future. Haven't heard from Radio Shack or Exxon. I asked all accounts be designated as "closed by consumer request." I BET less accounts will snap up the FICO quickly. Saar - I still haven't closed the Spiegel - because you mentioned AMEX Sign and Travel. I don't have that available to me yet. Hey Dog Good job, sliming down those accounts, I am proud I had similiar experiences as well, Exxon thanked me for being a good customer and sent a letter and Speigel and Target were very nice when I closed, they said to hold on to my cards and if I ever wanted to open again just call. Mom I would love to visit SF
Congrats Dog! I will start trimming credit lines in 2 years. Right now I am still adding tradelines to hold for 2+ year intervals. Keep posting!
