This is to a CA? or CRA?

If its to a CA they must respond to the validation request. You are not required to help them do their work....Hint Hint. I never put account numbers on my validation letters. Let them do the leg work, its their responsibility to prove YOU owe the debt...

Email me if you need to..

OK Guys, one of the board members was kind enough to set me straight last night. Now I understand the nature of the enemy and am prepared to do battle in an appropriate manner. ie: hit 'em hard, hit 'em fast, and, if at all possible, allow them to shoot themselves in the foot at every opportunity.

Who else has had dealings with IC systems (in any state) with this problem? (not receiving CRRR's at the address they provided to us.)

Please list the approximate month and which IC System (what state) you sent it to. I'm curious to see whether we can develop a reasonable fascimile of a "Class Action" due to their unlawful and deceptive trade practices.

I'm sending one to both addresses and I hope they don't pick up one of 'em.

I'm sending one to the corporate address with a note in the corner of the envelope "ATTN: Accounts Receivable" and the other to the address they provided me on the phone with a notation "Validation Request Enclosed".

If they reject of fail to pick up that second one, I'll start prepping the lawsuit. In the meantime, the other should be accepted and I won't have to wait 30 days.

I figure all the people they've screwed this way can get notarized copies of the sealed and rejected envelope and put together a quick deposition (notarized) saying that "when I told them I wanted to dispute, they told me to use a different address"

If 5 or 6 of us get together, we've got real ammunition for the courtroom. If the numbers are much higher, we've got the basis for a Class Action.

    Anybody interested?

At The risk of being accused of seeing little green men again I will pass on the information I got yesterday from my MIL.In hopes the sensebale will find it helpful.

Wifes step mother sent two Val.letters CRRR to N C O
Both letter were mailed at the same time the first part of Jan.
She never got either green card back & neither of the letters were returned to her.

She called me yesterday after stopping at the post office to inquire as to the where abouts of the letters and Gr. cards

Seems as how both the Gr. Cards & the 2 letters have all dissappeard into thin air.

The post office told her they can't find any evedience of there ever beeing any such letters.

When she ask how that could happen they said with NCO they could have some one intercepting mail at the other post office.

Ok, let's go with the worst case scenario and assume they've got an agent committing wholesale mail fraud and interfering with the mail. As my old Platoon sergeant used to say "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're really not out to get you."

Workaround: Use FedEx and require a signature

It'll cost more but there won't be any screwing around with the delivery.

In any event, is anyone interested in setting up the CA's for multiple falls?

Some people send the validation "payment enclosed"
    or some variation.

    lbrown59,

The exact same thing happened to me. Sent CRRR validation letter, the post office had no proof of it ever being mailed other than the receipt and the postmarked slip.

    Mmmmmm....

    Ok Folks, Progress report follows.

I sent duplicate validation requests to ICS. One went CRRR to their physical address, attn: Accounts Receivable, and they signed for it with no problem.

The other was sent CRRR to the special address they provided me for disputes with "Validation Request Enclosed" on the letter. For some reason, I haven't gotten the Green Card back on that one yet......

Let's see how this pans out.......

I just had a thought. If these letters are mysteriously disappearing, why not spend a couple of bucks and insure the letters also. That way, if they come up missing, you make some cash off the deal. This would be a good way to get back at the inept USPS.

    lbrown59,

I got the one back that I sent to their physical address. This is the one I addressed to the PO Box where we all figured they tell you to send complaint letters and then would never pick 'em up.

    OK, this is screwy.

Just got the other green card from the post office, signed the same day as the one I sent to their physical address.

Note from my local postmaster attached that basically said "Sorry about the delay, this was stuck in our machinery".

Looks like there was no plot at the NC office after all. It was signed for in a prompt manner.

Mind you, they haven't done squat as far as verifying or reporting it as "in dispute" and round two leaves my printer in three days.
