I am able to dispute SOME of the addresses online, but others say: "We store address information as it is sent to us by your credit grantors or from public records. This address is historical information and will remain on file." It also does this with names that are wayyy off. How can I get these removed?
I have one address from an ex-girlfriend who had an account in my name that went into collections. As such her address shows up on my experian report and I've tried disputing it on-line and through the U.S. Mail and it's still there. They reply with the same line quoted above. It's not a big deal, but it's not accurate and I'd like it removed but nothing has worked and I'm not sure it's worth filing a federal suit over it. Maybe small-claims, but I'll see how my currently pending suit goes, first.
