I read people's posts encouraging others to file suit and see many people filing suits.

I am confused about the process. What is the steps you take to file a suit on your own without an attorney? I am thinking these Violations are past the small amount allowed in Small Claims? So how does the whole suit process work? Have I missed a FAQ or resource for the steps to follow? I am clueless! So I don't feel qualified to file a suit.

I can't be the only one wondering this.

    Hi Chick,

One of the biggest issues is that filing suits is a product of state law. (Absent District Court)

So procedures are slightly different, X 50.

There's a lot of stuff on here tho.

    :)

    Well good question.

There's a lot of people on here from CA. So I'm sure they'll be along to give you some resources.

If you're moving soon, (and 90 days is soon when considering lawsuits) you may just want to wait, and become a Washington expert.

Suing them from WA. will definately throw them off balance anyway. They all think you live in CA.

    LOL

    (Watch your SOL's tho)

Yeah, it is a Catch 22 because DH is working on becoming employed in Washington but we could really use our credit being corrected so we feel secure in being able to rent some quality housing and get settled.
We have good TLs now... just working on getting the bads off. And it seems in Washington, they look at credit less than California as part of the over all picture. We have a perfect rental history which seems to matter most up there.
I just would like as much as I can cleared before we move.
Also don't want DHs potential employers to be scared off by a background check that would include credit. He is an Engineer so nothing related to financial.
I want out of California... He gets a new job paying the same as what he gets now and we are gone... no matter what it takes.
