Well, I am starting my journey again. This board helped me out tremendously about 5 years ago. My scores were great. But unfortunaty a divorce helped me to get back to a score in the 400s. Even though Ive done this before, I took the time to read the forum again to refresh myself and I am ready. I have pulled all of my reports and plan to start by disputing former name and address. I am not sure how to do this. I plan to do Certified return mail. Is that still the best way to approach this. Should I start with disputing this first. anyone of the address of the agencies?
Welcome back Brinasia! Although, I wish it were under better circumstances for you. Sending your disputes CMRRR directly to the CRAs is still the best way to communicate in my opinion. And if you have incorrect addresses and names on your reports, that's generally a good place to start. Best of luck on your journey this time! Hope to see you around Creditnet often.
I will disputing all names and former address, except my current name and address. I plan to keep it simple . Something like, this is not my name, this is not my address. I don't want to send anything that my get me later. So I am asking do I need to send a copy of my current info like my drivers license and is the keeping it simple sound good?
I 'm always for keeping things simple, and yes- when you send your written request I would at least send a copy of your DL with proof of current address. Check the specific CRA's requirements though. They might even require more info. to be included with your dispute.
I see the credit reporting agencies are hiding their addresses very well. Does anyone have up to date addresses for the 3 credit reporting agencies?
