This may be a dumb question, but I can't figure out how to get a free report from EX online. The other sites asked wheather or not you have been denied credit, but I couldn't find how to go about this with EX. Maybe there is another website out there & I'm at the wrong one? Or do I have to do it by phone or mail? Does anyone have any experience on this one? Thanks

If you are talking about Experian I think they have closed down there online access to a free report. As a GA resident I'm entitled to two free a year. Experian's website use to reconize this and give me free reports, now it doesn't and ask me to pay.

Go ahead and get CreditExpert and just dump it before 30 days.

If you want to get a free report based on being denied credit, you have to call or write for both experian and equifax. For experian, you can sign up for credit expert for 30 days free- I thought I would cancel this after 30 days but find it is too useful to cancel. For equifax, i think you also have to call or write, but they also offer 30 days free with subscription to credit watch. Credit watch only gives you 6 full reports a year, but they give you detailed credit alerts which I find useful as well. Privista also offers equifax reports (30 days free also) - but I did not like their set-up.

Go to experian.com and then "Request investigation", you will need an old report number.
