How to get opted back in?

Hello everyone, I just joined and I am really glad I found this website, itâ??s very informative.

I have a question about the opt-out number 888-567-8688. A few years ago I opted out of this number permanently and now I am recovering from bad credit with an improved FICO score of 640+. I want to apply for a credit card, but I would first like to see what kind of pre-approved offers I get instead of applying for a card and take a chance on the credit limit and the interest rate.

The opt-out number I listed above states I can add my name back if I press #2 and answer a few questions. When I try this, I get a confirmation at the end that states my name has been REMOVED from the list and I will NO longer receive unsolicited offers. I have tried this for over six months with no luck, and there have been absolutely no reviews on three credit reports either. Unfortunately this number does not have a live operator I can talk to and explain my situation. Can someone please tell me how to get my name included on their list?

Thank you so much in advance.

    Why opt in?

You really don't need to opt in, Creditnet is a great reference tool for finding out which credit cards and loans are the best. One thing I learned is that often when you get preapproval letters in the mail the rate can be actually higher than if you had called them directly. A lot of people are flattered by the preapproval offers they get, but don't realize that many of them did minimal screening to decide to send an offer to them. Right now I can tell you that a lot of the credit cards I applied for in the past based on ratings for the lowest interest rate or preapproval offer turned out to be the worst cards both in service and rate. And currently my lowest APR credit card is USAA with prime +1% as the STANDARD purchase/balance transfer rate and they only offered the rate to me after I had established a very good history with them.
