Ok, got a question. How do I handle bad checks? Anyone know what the SOL is for a bad check? I have 2: one that was reported opened on 12/2000 and the other on 1/2001. I have sent a validation letter to the CA. I know that these two items have been on my report for a while, but since they weren't calling and sending dunning letters, I was taking care of the ones that were.
Col KOrn: I don't really know the answer but you've helped me so much I wanted to do what I can to help you. I researched and found this from Why Chat who posts here on CN: "There is NO statute of limitation for collection on abad check in any State, there is a statute of limitation for prosocution." Hopefully someone else will come on and confirm OR give you a better answer. Shanyl
i had no luck with paying for delete, but it was $41, and oddly after disputing it enough times, efx deleted it. i guess its not profitable for the company to keep verifying the item month after month
<><><><><><> From what I have seen and heard lately, I'm afraid that common sense is indeed, not common. Col. K0rn ><><><><><><>< Fully 43 percent of Americans say they have common sense, but the reality is only 7 percent really do have it, according to a new survey conducted by Scott Tissue and Towels. Common sense isn't very common. .......``````````~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ NEW MEMBERS READ THIS. http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&postid=410243#post410243 ************************************************************

Col. K0rn ======================== Just because there are photocopies of them don't mean you owe for them. I never accept photocopies because. It is to easy to forge them! I don't pay till after I see the Original Check and then only if every thing is on the up and up. Somebody tried to scam me once by using forged photocopies of checks. I know they were forged because I still have the blank original checks.
Re: Re: Re: How to handle bad checks Whited Out Or better still sue them a 1000 for the violation. Bet that's more then the checks are worth!

The store assured him that they would install the antenna and TV the next day. The next evening the farmer turned on his new TV and found only political ads on every channel. The next morning he turned the TV on and found only political ads again. When he came in to eat lunch he tried the TV again but still only found political ads. The next day when he still found only political ads he called the store to complain. The owner said that it was impossible for every channel to only have political ads, but agreed to send their repairman to check the TV. When the TV repairman turned on the TV he found that the farmer was right. After looking at the TV for a while he went outside to check the antenna. In a few minutes he returned and told the farmer he had found the problem. The antenna had been installed on top of the windmill and grounded to the manure spreader. ======================== Only problem is dock's been watching to much TV ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ****************************************************** NEW MEMBERS READ THIS. http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&postid=410243#post410243 ******************************************************* >
Hey, Col. What did you ever find out about your bad check situation? My husband is in the same boat. We know that we paid it because it went through the State Attorney's Office, but we moved since then and I can't find my receipts anywhere! Now the State Att. Office and the CA say they never received payment. Which doesn't make sense, because wouldn't they have arrested my husband? Anyways, I was hoping you might have some wisdom to bestow. As always, grateful for the advice.
Waiting till the 30 days I sent them for validation to pass. After that, I will send another letter. If they dont' budge, I will probably pay for delete.
I'm waiting for the 30 days to pass from my first letter that I sent them. Then I will challenge with CRA's because they are both listed in DUPLICATE!!!
