I have been working on my credit reports for a bit now and thankfully had been able to get something off my reports that was very, very derogatory. So what is my problem you ask? Well, luckily, not only did all three credit reports make the change (I had proof of the change that needed to be made), but two of the three changed it to paid as agreed. One continued to keep the 90 day late. I would like to fight this late on my credit report, but afraid it may do more damage. The 90 day late shows up over a year ago, which I need it to do. If I dispute, I am afraid they will put the 90 date late where it really belongs, early 2003. But I also need to get the scores up higher, which would happen with the 90 day late gone. Has anyone had success dealing with this and if so, how should I go about it? Sorry to also keep vague, but, done for a reason.
Depends on how old the TL is. On old ones, I have found that messing with a late notation can do more harm than good, as sometimes the TL accidentally gets deleted altogether, and there goes a good TL.
Another interesting factor I just learned. I called the company directly to find out if it was possible to get a payment history. The debt has been paid almost a year ago. They said it would be hard to pull up that info because they archive the records, especially ones that are paid in full. If this is the case, wouldn't it be very time consuming and more of a problem for the CRA to correctly verify this info? Since it is only not even a year old, I would hope they wouldn't get rid of the TL and it states on top of all credit reports, positive information remains on your credit reports. Any thought to this would be helpful.
Re: Re: how to handle situation 1*This means it can,it does not mean that it will or that it has to. There have been many posters here who lost good trade lines by disputing lates.
Re: Re: how to handle situation 2*it states on top of all credit reports, positive information remains on your credit reports. wakingup ================ 2*And the law says The cra must correct the information or delete the account. It's the CRAs choice. .

Re: Re: Re: how to handle situation Oh no ya don't. Lets figure out what needs to be done and proceed strategically. .
Re: Re: how to handle situation If it's difficult to find, then if the CRA goes to correct or verify the information and the OC cannot locate it or locate it in a timely manner, it then becomes unverifiable and then BAAAAMMM it's deleted...want to risk getting an even lower score?
