I disputed online 2 accounts 1 CA and 1 OC with Transunion. Both accounts have not been reported/updated since 2004. Transunion keeps coming back with Previously Verified and will not re-investigate the accounts. Should I dispute it in writing or should I call them or is there another method besides suing. Thanks for your assistance.
TU can be a real big PITA. They are real yahoos when it comes to investigating customer issues. They still are not reporting my car loan account that I opened last year even though the OC swears up/down/sideways/in/out that they have been reporting it to TU since day one. TU keeps sending me their form letters that it sometimes takes creditors "several months" to start reporting new accounts. No use disputing anything in writing with them, all that you'll get from them is form letters.
I have the opposite.. TU is best for me.. I disputed online 3 things and they dropped. The rest had to be done via snail mail with return receipt. They did take every bit of 30 days to get things done though.. EQ and EX are a different story..
Did you ask them (in writing) how they can claim to have verified this account and at the same time report that it has not been verified since 2004?
Dispute it in writing and back it up with a description of verification procedures request. Get the FRCA provision and cite it line by line. You may want to send it to legal in Chicago as well.
