Howdy All, My wife and I have purchased a home from a couple who agreed to owner finance. It was a standard sale, no contracts for deed or trusts involved. We did the whole deed/title/lawyer routine just like a bank mortgage only we make payments to the couple rather than to a bank. I'd like to find a way to report the fact that we're making regular on-time payments on a mortgage to the CRAs. Does anyone know a way to get this info reported? I'm willing to pay a reasonable fee for the couple to be able to report our info to the CRAs. (They own a couple of businesses if that helps.) I'd greatly appreciate any advice anyone can provide. Thanks for your time, Dancer
Unfortunately, it's easier for the couple to leave negative information on your credit report in the event of missed payments than to leave positive. With the credit bureau you must have about 500 accounts to leave positive feeback, but negative can be left without that requirement.
Mortgage brokers sometimes can do a thing called Rapid Rescoring which puts info on your report. Not sure what the ins and outs of it are.
