Curious to know what board members experience with Chase
    thinking of applying for cc.
how are they with credit lines?
also - as far as i know - they check tu in CA - is that right?
has anyone in CA applied recently?

    thanx in advance...

    stingy
    tight-fisted
    miserly
    ...get the idea?

It took 25 months to go from $2K CL to $2.5K with Chase. When I asked why, considering my scores, all I got was "it's confidential." Meanwhile DMB & Juniper were quite generous, $11.7K & $5.5K respectively.

I would recommend Juniper as their service and rates are much better.

    thanx Rina for the input.
i heard Juniper's tough with approvals.

Chase gave me the highest limit. Higher than Amex, higher than Citi, higher than B of A.

Was initially approved for $10K. Called for an increase before I even got the card. A couple of days later my limit was $12K.

Scores should be good, not outstanding.

In my experience, too many INQs would get you declined, even if your score is 720. They declined me for a Gold for having too many INQs and would not reconsider. Yet a couple of months later, when some of my INQs aged (>6 months old), they approved me for a Platinum.

APR negotiations with "R" have proven very successful.

    Thanx Saar.

I have one inquiry - on TU within last 6 mos
Two inquiries - on Exp within last 6 mos
Two inquiries - on Eq within last 6 mos

    Total CL 36K
    debt approx 7K

i'm guessing that i have an okay chance.
btw - what cra did they check for you?

Before you ask, I don't know my score then or now.
I have four lines with Chase, the highest 14,000 the lowest 10,000. They also offer great BT rates, just got one for 0% APR till 1/03 on the 14,000 line.

Existing account. It was actually being used at 5.9% APR, but once I saw the offer for 0% I used another account to pay it off, so I could take advantage of this great offer. It pays to exercise your credit.

    Initial limit = generous ... increases, so-so.

Partner applied for Plat. Visa, only had a few other cards with $2-$4k limits - was approved for $9k. One year later, increased to $15k upon request (pulled hard inq). One year later ... automatically increased $1.5k.

Shell MC - initial limit $7.5k ... 1 year later increased to $10k upon request (again, pulled hard inq.).

They're good to work with, but like I said, stingy after initial approval.
