    Hello there?

Back in april/01 I sent in my payment on an account for no interest untill 2002... May, bill came in and I pay this one too, didn't notice that the previous payment was not credited. That month I recieved a call that they has not recieved the payment, I told the person that the payment was in the mail.. she replied, ' yeah like I haven't heard that one" and if you don't pay today I'll report you to the Bureau. So I make another payment over the phone.... to make it short.....
APRIL Payment was never credited nor deposited, my account was revoke, began to pay interest on this account and got hit with a 30 DAYS LATE...
I have talk to all customer Reps. with this COMPANY and no luck..Their comments are
    1. we don't losse payments.
    2. How we know that you mailed the payment?
    3. You could alter a Carbon Copy of the check.
All bills pay that weekwere credited and cashed...

What else can I do??? besides calling them...
I just want the 30 day late taken out.. and maybe the interes I pay, after the account was revoke and line of credit taken.

I have heard this situacion before, of HRS loosing payments and posting late payments.

    Thaks for any replies

Hi, welcome to the board :)

Former customer service rep (FirstUSA) here, first off - they're full of it if they say they don't lose payments. I would then turn the conversation on them, asking how their payment system works, how many payments do they receive in a particular day, etc. Another good question is to ask if he handles payments himself, if he doesn't "Then how can you verify you don't lose payments?"

Call your bank - see if the check has been cashed. if it hasn't then it's your word vs. theirs.

If it has, then here's where you have the upper hand. Ask your bank for a copy of the check - send it to HRS CRR (Certified mail, return receipt) and demand a letter apologizing for their screw up and offering to fix the account, including the lates, interest that you had to pay, as well as costs for you having to get a copy of your check. You can also call customer service, get the person's full name and where they work (City of their office) - so that way you can fax the letter copy, then hound that one person over and over until it's taken care of. Trust me, I was on the other end - make that person regret messing with you if he's not helpful.

Was the account just a month past due? Most companies won't close an account unless you're at least 90 days late (And don't worry about the Bureau - unless you're 60 days late they won't know about it).

    Hope this helps...

Now get this a preditor dosen't want to accept a copy of a check as proof but they expect you to accept a copy as proof you owe for a bounced check.

HRS USA is called Household Retail Services and previously called Beneficail National Bank. They bought out by Household Bank. They managed private label cards for Best Buy, CompUSA, Service Merchandise, Costco etc.

I know I have make this payment, because I always write the date, amount paid and check # on the bill stament. One stament at a time... That day I mailed 7 payments, all of them were posted and clear. Also when mailing, them at the Post Office I make sure all of them have stamps on. I know this check have not been deposit or cashed since 4-4-01..
I never paid much attention at the bill, I just sent payments with more than the minimum.

I will try PFB on this company..
I had tried with Capital One, and THE MAN (Mr. Cooke) call me and took care issues i had with his company.
    Thanks for the replies....

I do that too but I also keep a ledger on the account. When I get the statements I check them off with the ledger.
Some things I like about a ledger.
a=unlike the creditors records my ledger is always current and up to date.
b=a ledger creates a paper trail.
----------------In any billing error I always include a copy of the ledger with my complaint.

1*I ask them why their billing does not agree with my ledger?
2*If they suggest that I am in error I ask them what line on the ledger they feel is wrong and and why they feel it is?

If they do not correctly answer either one of these Questions they can't prove their bill is valid.
