HSBC Holdings is a British Bank. I don't think they have a footprint in the U.S. yet. They are supposed to be one of the world's largest banks.

They are in the US and they are a great bank. I have my checking and savings with them and they are very reputable. I am suprised that they have bought household. HSBC is has a location on practically every corner in NYC and they definately do not dwell in the subprime market. So I guess it may lend a little more prestige to household cardholders if HSBC is going to take over their operations.
