    Hi all!

I was just "dinged" today on my credit report by HSBC for not being on time with a $10 payment!

    Here's the issue..

I had a checking account and line of credit with HSBC.

the checking account was closed, but the line of creditw as kept open.
Every month, it'd say on my bill "$19 will be deducted automatically from your account aqs payment if you do not send us a payment by xx/15/02".

So i let it roll. so each month they have been charging me $29 fee for overdraft, which was then debited back to the line of credit.which then reported paid. I was too busy to take care of it, but i KNEw there was no proiblem, becuase on each bill it said :payment will be deducted automatically".

now, they have reported me 2x 30 days late.

I have spoken to a mrs. barteromo, a suporvisor, whom i reached after arguing with a phone rep for 25 minutes.

she promised to remove the late (this was when the forst one hit), as soon as I paid the amount due. She told me that her extension was chosed at random every day, so she could not be reached, but that she would notate the account.

when my credit report showed up as still being reported 30 days late, i disputed the item with the CRA, who came back with a "VERIFIED" reply from HSBC, that yes, i WAS 30 days late.

Any Ideas? Does my statement protect me, since it said "payment will be automatically deducted??"

    Thanks all! Awaiting Responses!
