I just got the following Notice on email:

    Credit Detail Status
    Public Records

The following public record information has been added to your credit file or changed on your credit file. Public record information includes bankruptcies, liens, garnishments, foreclosures or legal items. Collection accounts, while not public records, have been included in this section as well.

Collection was filed on 06/2002 with UNIV OF ROCHEST regarding account number XXXXXXXXX with a balance of $5379. The date of last activity is 12/1999.

    ...
ok a bit of history , this was a student loan that went into default in 96 or 97... My parents ended up paying for it sometime last year.

Since this notice I check my public records section and it is all blank..
however it is under the collections account area as PAID report status 6/2002
    ...

so whats the deal.. will this account end up in my public records file?

--by the way the title should of read EQ... sorry

It does not appear that this account will go under public records. I believe it will be reported simply as a collection. Note that the EQ email says that *collections appear here also*. I think they are reporting it as a paid off collection account. Anyone else have suggestions? Good luck.
