I have 2 derogs on experian, while the others are clean reports. They verify everything, including the judgement I've been dying to get off. I'm so depressed about it. EQ and TU have been a breeze, but EXP screws me at every turn. I've disputed it twice, and now probably won't be able to do it again for awhile. I even had my old address deleted. I don't know how they verify, when the other 2 don't. I guess it's time to go to the courthouse and get exact copies of the records to figure out another approach. I won't send them to EXP, but there has to be something in those papers that I can use to get this off my report. I use my exp. report, because of those 2 derogs. I HATE them!! I'll be sending a procedural request first thing monday morning!!!

    Tracy,

I've been reading and participating on these and other boards since about April 2002.

From what I've read AND experienced, it appears that the difficulties with the CRAs seem pretty evenly spread out.

In my case, EQ seems to take the "buttheads of the year" award. They "verified" a judgment with a statement on my report that says they checked and it wasn't recorded as Satisfied/Released. That wasn't what I requested. Go figure. And they did this, according to the supervisor I spoke with, by name and SSN even though the name on my report's personal info doesn't match the name on the judgment. That means they only used the SSN to match it. I am so frustrated. This judgment is the only derog keeping me from a mortgage.

Oh well, I've heard that the closer you get to clean, the harder it is to get things removed.

Let me explain the situation, and maybe someone can answer a question for me.

Ok, in 1997 I owed an oil company about $500. They were going to take me to court, and me, being young and stupid, intead of going to court, I went and paid the bill, on the same day. So, while they were at the courthouse getting a judgement, I was at the office paying it off.

Then, a few years later I get a copy of my cr. Tu is reporting the unpaid judgement, the paid judgement, and an unpaid tax lien. EQ is reporting the unpaid judgement only, and EX is reporting the unpaid tax lien only. So, I successfully got TU to delete the 3 TL's on their report, and EQ has deleted their one, but EXP has verified twice. So, I have never actually gone to the courthouse to see the paperwork. I'm not sure if the date and amount is correct, or if my ssn is on there. I'm going to go on monday. So, if I pay this lien, which I'll have to do in order to buy a house someday, unless I can get it deleted somehow, will it be rereported on all 3 reports? So all my work will have been for nothing? TU and EXP were reporting the unpaid lien w/ 2 different amounts, so hopefull EXP is reporting the wrong one, but I doubt it. What will happen to my clean reports if I'm forced to pay this!!

TIA for any advice. This one is getting me all worked up!!

Because the ones that are easier to remove for WHATEVER reason (no rhyme or reason) will come off first and you'll be left w/ the tough nuts to crack.

Might have something to do with how those tough negatives increase your interest rates?????

    100% agreement here!

I've got 3-4 "agree to delete" letters floating around the CRAs right now and they just can't seem to find them! What a crock!

And today a "paid/released" state tax lien came off. Go figure. This is the second time I disputed them as not mine. There was 1 from one county and 3 from another. Only the 1 came off, but that's still a victory.
