After months of waiting, I pulled my TU score on 14 January. It's a clean score of 730. From 580 to here. in 6 months.

I waited a couple days, I was itching to apply for a new card.

I applied for Chase today. few hours a ago. I am going to apply for the following companies:

    BofA
    US Bank
    Chase
    Bank One
    MBNA
    Fleet
    Citibank
    First National Bank of Omaha

Do you think I should go ahead and apply for all in one day and get it over with?

Check the lists for which credit card company pulls which credit report and make sure that anything you apply for will pull TU from where you live.

I say only apply for 1 or 2 at the most. You will do much more damage applying for multiples, the fourth card you apply for will see that you've applied for 3 other cards so you will most likely get declined.

That MAY not be really true. I work in software field, and it is really quite expensive to post one inquiry at a time on a credit report as and when it occurs. The normal modus operandi when you expect a freight-load of incoming data is to run a batch job in the off hours (usually between midnight and 4AM) to post it to the database; not do update for each record as and when it comes in. And I willing to bet that's the solution the CRAs employ.

If my guess is correct, if you apply for all the cards on the same day, no lender sees the other's inquiry. But by next day, they will.

Only Chase and US Bank checked TU, I got approved for both.

Just an FYI. I've applied for over 20 cards in the last 6 months and I've always pulled my reports immediately after applying. In EVERY case, the inquiry has appeared immediately. No delays here.

Congratulations on your new cards, LosAngeles. I personally think I'd wait about six months before applying again.

Hmm ... okay, so I lose my bet :) But that's good information to know.
