I am finally in the 600 club after getting those nasty Gulf state entries off. My score on experian in 617! Haven't checked TU or EQ yet, but I'm about to. I"m so excited I could BURST! I only have 5 more derogs to go, and I'm done. I've gone from 16 to 5!!! Experian was my hardest, so I'm excited.

To all the the newbies out there, who are despairing because your credit, just get started be patient, and learn your case law and FCRA and FDPCA. I used to be so afraid of collection agencies and my credit reports and wanted to cry, but not anymore.

My goals have seriously changed since my bad college days years ago, and I am ready to start rebuilding my credit soon.

Thank you credit net. I couldn't have done it without you. I've gone from a 556 score to a 617 on EX and have raised my score about 25 on Equifax and TU. I started my credit journey on March 1, 2002.

When I'm at zero derogs, you'll see me dancing a jig!

    Congrats!

I'm in the same boat with Gulfstate...How did you shake them (and OSI, and Palasades...oh brother)?!

It took incredible patience with Gulf State. First I sent one validation letter, then a follow up. Then the third was letter I faxed to Samuel D. Shannon, their compliance manager. Simply outlined Gulfstate's/OSI's 4 violations and he said they couldn't find the debt and he sent me a deletion letter.

The key with them is to be patient, don't let them railroad you, let the violations pile on, and then go at 'em with both barrels. The key thing is here that one of the accounts (Sprint) wasn't even mine! I have never had Sprint in my life, but they were reporting I was. Losers. They wouldn't take it off, so I had to start being a little nasty.

Do a search on Sam Shannon. That's where you will find the good stuff about Gulf State/OSI/Pallisades deletions.
