Hereâ??s my dilemma. I disputed 2 â?? thirty day late pays on my mortgage with all 3 CRAâ??s, for both my husbandâ??s reports as well as mine. Experian came back verified and remained unchanged. Equifax came back with additional info. Now it is reporting 16 times late which 15 are UNKNOWN and 1 sixty day late UNKNOWN, and the worst part is they are now reporting it as currently 30 days past due. TU is still reporting the 2 thirty days late, but now they also are reporting it as currently 30 days past due. I called my mortgage company on July 23rd and they said it is not late and has not been late sine 11/2000. I said â??exactlyâ? so why is it showing on my credit reports that way. They said they would send a corrected report to all four CRAâ??s. I also faxed a dispute to them so I have it on paper.

My biggest concern right now though is 3 months ago I received a new credit card from universal with a $6000.00 limit with 0% interest until 6/2003. So, I transferred all balances onto that card. Well, as you all probably known, it states that if you are late with a payment to them as well to any other creditor they will give you the default rate. Needless to say, I am so worried they will see my reports and believe I AM currently delinquent. I explained this problem to the mortgage company when I called. They really did not care, as if it was not their problem. All they sent me was a letter stating they received my payment on August 8, 2002 and the next payment is due September 1, 2002.

Now, I just checked our Equifax reports and it seems they only removed the 60 day unknown late from both of our reports, and it is STILL reporting currently late. TU has not changed anything yet.

    1) Does it appear that Equifax is finished updating and that is all they are going to fix. Or my they update some more in the next few days.

    2) How often does universal check reports to see if one is late with payments, and if they see DO see this late pay, what can I do?

    It is their problem.

If I were you I would make them aware of that fact. Mail, don't fax, a certified rrr letter explaining your situation again, and tell them that if the CCC changes you to the "default" terms, you will sue them for the damages for their inaccurate reporting.

I had a Universal $6000 at 0% for 12 months. they jacked the % to 24.99 the first chance they got! I'd expect them to do the same to you...

Needless to say, I transfered the balance to another card and closed the account! 24.99% my A$$ !!!

    PAE:
Did they raise your rate the same month you were 30 days late with a payment, or did it take them a few months. I am hoping they will not check my report for a few months and this mess will be corrected by then. Although, I am going to try and have it fixed by the end of this week or next.

If they do raise it, I would send them the letter you send to the credit reporters too.. copy the certified card, etc...

Its amazing to me to think that a creditor can raise an interest rate based ON OTHER creditors... that makes me furious!
