to be a retail card as far as the cra's go. Is this correct? I still don't have a retail card and that is the #1 reason for my scores on all 3 reports.

I would assume so, seeing as it can only be used at a specific store.

I would recommend the macy's dept card.. they report to all 3 CRA's and I believe they do it monthly.

You expect them to be higher with a retail card?

    Hermit,
With the CRA's *I* don't expect anything...lol. It's the general concensus that a "mixture" of cards, helps the scores. Although now that I received a "mixture" of cards, it says my low score (TU) is because of 90+ late as well as lack of mortgages as well as too many open accounts.
In worthknowing it says sometimes TU can NOT differentiate between a retail card or a major which I think is bull.
ANYWAY, long story short... I think it's safe to say the board GENERALLY agrees 4-6 card total, 2 being retail cards 2-4 being Major CC.
