    I am so frustrated.

I have worked, and worked, and worked on this. I have gotten 6 derogs deleted off of Dh's TU and his score dropped 72 points!!!!! No... I know I will cry. Especially when I have to tell him. He already doubts this whole process.

Here is what he has left...

    One old wrong address

    Ch. 7 bk discharged 6/95
    Ch. 13 bk discharged 5/01

    Derogs left:

Verizon DOLA 4/98 included in bk disputed and verified

Fargobnk closed DOLA 1/03 1 - 30 day This was a CD secured loan but is showing up as an auto account

Collection Center/utility bill Open collection for $120

Another Collection Center/hospital bill Showing as open with a balance but included in bk

He has one open account in good standing. Our truck loan that is a year old with no lates.

    My plan:

I am going to bite the bullet and pay the $120 collection today unless you all have other ideas. It is our debt and Collection Center has been very good to us by deleting after payment in the past.

I am going to dispute everything else, bks included.

I have done 1 round of disputes by mail, the second round online. Any hard and fast rules to what I should do for the third round?

He did just get a First Premier card. I know sucky card, but it's a card and it reports. Hopefully it will show up soon and help.

Please point me in the right direction before I lose all my hair and/or my mind.

Most likely the deleted items were the oldest on his report? My guess is that his report history at this point is very short. And, with 2 bks, 4 or 5 derogs and 1 good acct, even the older negatives in effect, were positive due to the years of history. It is better to have a few old negatives than just a few current negs and 1 good acct as it adds to the credit history, which is one of the factors in credit scoring. Just keep working at it, get a few good accts reporting and he'll be fine.

Also, I assume you are talkinb about the fako score. If so, ignore it, it is useless and way off compared to a real FICO score.

It's the number that I pulled from my online report, whichever that is.

But I thought Fakos were usually higher than Ficos.

    ***sigh***

SHould I not dispute the verizon derog after all since it's 98? Or should I just try to get everything off and start all over?

My TU fako is over 100 pts lower than my real FICO.Ignore it, it is a piece of crap score. It isn't even good for comparisons. The creditexpert score at least was within 25 pts of my real Exp. score.

As for verizon, what exactly is the situation?

Verizon DOLA 4/98 included in bk -0- balance

This has been disputed and verified several times.

Because it is 5 years old, it isn't having the effects it used to, but it does reference the bk.

I think too many people concentrate on scores when they should be concentrating on removing negitives.

I have good scores but due to 2 CA listings and 2 unpaid charge offs my credit sucks!

Your best course of action is to continue in your plan to get all negitives removed while building new positive credit lines.

Your PF account is a great start. Do you have any store cards? Any chance you can take out a secured loan through a credit union? Are there any other ways you can add positive lines?

Damn the scores full speed ahead! :)
