Sent for my traveler's checks, they came today!! That little Ch loophole is nice. Thanks for telling us about it Saar. On my way to the bank now. :X
Hope, that sounds like a plan!! Everyone else: okay, it is a loophole (we think) and we don't want it closed. It was in an earlier thread, that Saar had PBM close, for just that reason. Even if "their" people don't read this board, all these big companies have bots running to pick up stuff about their company. So my email is enabled, I don't know if Saar's and Hope's are, but anyway, just send me an email and I will tell you. It's really better that we don't discuss it on the board, honest! It is not a secret from you guys. Other folks who use it, post on here if your email is enabled, so others can ask you about it, k? It is really cool, similar to Cobalt card deal, only wayyyyy better and absolutely free.
Cool. I sent the info to a handful of people. This is soooooo fantastic!! When I took them to the bank, they were a little jealous (of course they sell traveler's checks). The girl implied that BigBank was going to screw up my finances by taking out the wrong amount of money.... hahahaha. She said "well, we do this too..." I said, "But this is absolutely free." My bank charges you extra if you use a teller more than 3 times a month!! I hate how they nickle and dime me!!
I was going to try this, but after reading some of my card agreements, they specifically list T C's as a cash advance transaction, are they coded differently? What card did you use? and did your statement close yet? It just seems impossible that this type of transaction could go as a purchase. There must be some way they categorize these transactions at the cardholders bank, I've noticed also the list of "cash" type transactions seems to have expanded, re: tax payments, gambling w/out a an actual advance, bail bonds, court costs!(?), & other "in-bank" transactions etc.. I am afraid that even if the selling bank reports it as a "purchase", my bank might some how flag it as one of the "cash" type. Thanks.
Mine is on a DMB MC - it hasn't posted yet, but I am taking Hope's word for it. If you go back and read the original thread, she and a couple of others tried it - it was a purchase.
Thanks, F.Y.I. my Prodigy MC is issued by DMB, and that was where I was reading all the provisions with respect to the Card holder agreement, I'll have to dig up my other discloseures from other banks.
I have used the DMB MC with Cobalt transactions with no problem. It should post tomorrow or the next day. Right now it just shows the authorization.
WELL! I C everyone is having creative fun here. what I will say - for whatever it is worth - SAAR and I both have used this transaction - as have others! LOL! works with giftchecks too LOL! just tried it once to c what would happen. best arfs to you all - dogman
Re: WELL! I C Does this mean that if I play this "game" with 4000$ and a Reward card paying 1% back on all the purchases - I can make 40$ in no time! I could pay off the balance on the CC as soon as I get the cash.... hm...
Good thing I don't like cats, because I know what curiosity does to them. Breeze, hit me with it please! My e-mail is enabled. Tally Ho!
Quixote, your email is turned off! Click on "Account" and fix it, or click on my name and go to my email and send a blank email with "loophole" as the subject.
