If I send out a DV, which I am writing now to a few of the Collectors and they respond back to me that I owe the money what do I do then, ask them for a pay to delete? What is the 1-2 punch? Can I use that and I have not gotten any letters from most of these places in a long time because we have moved quite a bit because Of DH's job. Oh, they are calling DH at work now ever since I opened up a can of worms by calling one of them to try to work out a payment plan. I know I was stupid and did not know what the heck I was doing. I am learning though, lol....
    Thanks.

They will probably not respond to a request for validation insofar as these are very old accounts (they may however). At this point, that is not what you're looking for anyway. You are driving at getting them to disappear off your credit reports. One way of compelling them to do so is if they fail to mark the account in dispute on your reports and then verify it as such per your dispute through the CRA's. That is a FDCPA violation and probably, an FCRA violation contingent upon your federal circuit.

If they respond by calling you, you just state that they never validated that you owe them what they allege. Really, you need to include in your request for validation that they should not contact you via the phone. If it's a time barred debt, you write them a letter noticing them that they cannot contact you at all.

The 1-2 punch is the act of requesting validation, waiting on such receipt, and then disputing the tradeline through the CRA's.

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to all my questions. I really appreciate it. I am sending out my letters next week, should I send them where they have to sign that way I have proof of when they get them. Also what do I put for them to contact me back. I dont want them calling me or emailing me. Thanks Again.

    Michelle,

Give me a PM and I'll send you a template wherein the return address is properly included.
