HOLY CRAP I CANT BELIEVE IT!!!
Anyway, I got the CitiAA Gold world mastercard $5,500 limit, and they pulled TU (my absolute worst). My inrest rate is Prime +9.9%, not the best but sure beats Providian. They said when I get my card I can BT, I have never done this how does it work? Is Citi like Amex, meaning do you have to pay off when you get the bill, or is it like the providian where you have a minimum payment? The guy said something about them giving you 9 months on BT (he was talking about the Platinum). One last stupid question, is Citi a prime card?
    THANK YOU CREDITNETTERS!!!!!!

    Congratulations!!!!!

    Was it instant?

I applied earlier and got the message: "as soon as your application has been processed, we'll send an answer to the address provided." No 7-10 days or anything. My TU score is 623. I gotta know now if I was approved!!!!

No it wasn't instant. I got the same message as you then I got a letter saying I was denied cause my income wasn't enough. I called the number they gave and added hubbys income. Then I searched the board for a number (cause I am very impatient) and called. The guy said we need your work number then put me on hold (he did call work). When he came back he said I was approved. The number I called was 301-733-5501. After hitting a few numbers one of the prompts will say if you applied less than 3 weeks ago hit 1, if you applied more than 3 weeks ago hit 2, I hit 2 even though it was only about 2 weeks ago. I got a rep immediately! Good luck!!!

Thank you! I'm not sure how a BT works, but I think you can request BT checks, or you can call a rep and tell them directly.

I appreciate it! Maybe I'll call tomorrow. BTW, what income did you originally put down? Under 20K? TIA

You know you want to call now...lol. I put $32K, then I added my hubbys and we were at $60K. Apparently that was enough!

Maybe my income isn't enough. I wonder if that is it. Mine and hubbys is over that. The other thing I thought of is maybe it's because I used my cell phone as my phone number.

I do want to call, but I don't usually give in to peer pressure! LOL :)

Congrats, KHM. Citi is a prime card and is considered to be very generous with credit line increases and the lowering of interest rates. The Citi platinum card is offering 0% for balance transfers for 9 months. You mentioned that your interest rate is prime + 9.9% which puts you around 14.5-14.75%. Call Citi first and see if they are willing to offer you an introductory offer for balance transfers. If you have any high credit card balances that are over 14.5% interest, think about transferring them to Citi. I did this with Juniper. Amex had their payment in 2 days (I didn't realize it was that fast). Again, congratulations.

    Dani

PS Ask if there are balance transfer fees involved.

    Dani-
I called CS at Citibank and asked how to go about getting the Platinum and she said as soon as I get my card to call :) I told her I planned on doing some BT but I want to earn the miles for it (I don't really just want the platinum BT offer). All I owe on is Providian $1400 and right now I'm at 16.99 with them and no grace period. Providian is apparently upping some peoples rates to 29.99 so I will do it whether they raise mine or not. Providian is my oldest CC so I will keep it around just for gum and butts...lol.
    Thanks Dani :)

    Congrats KHM!

It feels good to be treated with a little respect for a change, doesn't it?

FYI When I was approved last week, scores were as posted below my sig. They checked Ex, my worst.

    Way to go, KHM!

    Doc

P.S. to Quixote: Your Trans Union score is higher than the others because it uses a 950 point scale, while the other two top out at 850. To view your Trans Union score on the other scale, get out your calculator, lol:
    TransUnion FICO_Equivalent Score = 850 * (TransUnion/950)

If I were to apply today while nearly everything negative is in dispute, would I have a better chance or would it even matter? Do they still see the actual report?

    Christi,
the rep told me they pull the report that is closest to you, which is TU for me. I know my CE and TU score has NEVER changed while it was in dispute. It's your call. I keep thinking the guy is going to call me and tel me "we had you confused with someone else, there's no way your getting a card from US". It's your call, but I thought I'd let you know.

Doc, it's not the TU that's suspiciously high. It's Equifax. Mind you, I'm not complaining about the EQ score, but if you just glance over my three CR's, you'd probably guess that TU would be my highest, followed by EQ, with EX way in the rear.

At any rate, I'm anxious to see what happens after all the CHOD disputes are resolved one way or the other. Then I'll have a clearer view of my actual scores. I think... (I can hear lbrown59 warming up his typing fingers already!)
