Re: Re: I Got It!!!!! Amex Blue!!!!!!! I had $15,500...but then I NEVER got any limit increases in 3.5 years!!!
Re: Re: I Got It!!!!! Amex Blue!!!!!!! One could almost say it is. But it's pretty much standard for those of us who cleaned up our credit and starting out with prime cards (especially with no existing cards over $10K). I also got $2K with no derogs on my EFX report
Re: Re: I Got It!!!!! Amex Blue!!!!!!! I wonder how they came up with $2000.00. Seems kinda low compared to some older postings of credit limits from them???
That seems to be the standard. When I applied for Blue online, I got the message that I would know if I got the card in 10-14 days, well I got it with the 2K limit. I called them up before I activated Blue and asked for a $600 increase (I need it to buy a TV at Costco because they only take Amex). They gave me the $600 without question. I personally thought that was a low limit because I have the following limits. Att Universal MC: $4500 Discover: $6100 1st USA (Bank One now) VISA: $10K Citibank MC: $5100 Reguardless, I was happy to get Amex Blue because I wanted the TV. What's now funny is that I don't have the TV because I decied to try and get my cards paid down. What's really odd now is after posting my limits, my total available revolving credit is now lover then it was 3 years ago. Back then, I had $35K total between my cards. I'm now thinking it was a mistake to cancel those old cards and opening new accounts knowing what I now know about credit scores.
Re: Re: Re: I Got It!!!!! Amex Blue!!!!!!! You can call to New Accounts Dpt and make a request for a credit limit increase. It works during the first 30 days after you receive the card. In other case you will have to wait 6 months for an increase.
Re: Re: Re: Re: I Got It!!!!! Amex Blue!!!!!!! It didn;t work for me. I called new accounts and was told I need to wait six months (3 months to go). I might be the exception though...
Re: Re: Re: Re: I Got It!!!!! Amex Blue!!!!!!! I think I'm going to call them when I get the card and ask.... what could it hurt???
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: I Got It!!!!! Amex Blue!!!!!!! You have to insist or ask for a supervisor on New Accounts. Tell him to make a "Request for a credit line increase."
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: I Got It!!!!! Amex Blue!!!!!!! Congrats! Yes, $2000 is standard and yes, new accounts should be able to bump that up to $5000 per geo's instructions. It's a great card. Enjoy!
