All of them paid in my credit file.

    1. Simms Associates- interesting it's a paid charge off for Cross Country Bank, however in the revolving accounts- it's Account Closed by Consumer. DOLA: 11/97

    2. Credit Management- OLD cable bill- they couldn't find me when I moved- paid, DOLA: 5/99

    3. Park Dansan- OLD phone bill- they couldn't find me when I moved- paid, DOLA: 3/99

    4. CSD Collections- OLD Dr's Bill- Sent him the HIPPA letter.. waiting to see on that one.. anywho.. it's paid.. DOLA- 9/98.

How much are these really hurting my score? The newest one is 4.5 years old.

What's your score? Do you have postive tradelines since then?

My score is hovering around 600. My student loans have been rehabilitated, so they are all positive tradelines. I have not been late on ANYTHING in over a year and my car loan has a bunch of 30's on it that I'm pretty sure are inaccurate, but I want to check my bank records on it.

The only things I really have are my student loans and my car- that are current- not even an hour late on the student loans and the car loan..like I said.. reporting 30 days late 9/02 to the beginning of the loan (7/01)

My credit card that I paid off and closed- my mom was joint on it and wanted it closed- DOLA was 4/01 and the status is pays as agreed and Account closed by Credit Grantor- although it should say consumer since my mom asked to have it closed- this is an ongoing battle with that bank.

Then I have a Providian that was a paid charge off- DOLA 6/99- balance $0.

I really want to apply for SOMETHING and get some good tradelines, but I'm scared to death of wasting a hard inquiry. I have 1 inquiry- in September for being stupid. Other than that- none.

Going through my Equifax report I got in the mail yesterday-

The four collections above and the following tradelines:

Campus Federal (Gold Card) DOLA 4/2001
Pays as Agreed, Account Closed by Credit Grantor
(longest past due was 30 days)

    Cross Country DOLA 6/1999
Charge Off, Account Closed by Consumer

    Fairlane Credit DOLA 10/2003
    Pays as Agree, Open
    (30 days past due 9/2002)

    Providian Bankcorp DOLA 6/1999
Paid Charge off, Account Closed by Credit Grantor

    Sallie Mae DOLA 9/2003
    Pays as Agreed- Open

    Sallie Mae DOLA 9/2003
    Pays as Agreed- Open

    Sallie Mae DOLA 12/2000
Over 120 Days Past Due- Account Sold
THIS ONE IS BEING INVESTIGATED- the months they say I was past due, I was not even with Sallie Mae- my loan was with another company-

    Sallie Mae DOLA 9/2003
    Pays as Agreed- Open

    Sallie Mae DOLA 9/2003
    Pays as Agreed- Open

    USA Loans DOLA 12/2000
Pays As Agreed- Account Transferred or Sold

    USA Loans DOLA 12/2000
Pays As Agreed- Account Transferred or Sold

    USA Loans DOLA 12/2000
Pays As Agreed- Account Transferred or Sold

    USA Loans DOLA 12/2000
Pays As Agreed- Account Transferred or Sold

Then inquiries from 9/03, 4/03 (got the gas turned on in the new house!), 9/02, 7/02, 1/02, 1/02.

I'm going to consolidate my student loans when I find out what the new rate is, but since I just rehabilitated, my rate is only 4%- no sense in locking with the rate right now if the rate next July (published in May) is going to be lower.

I sent a goodwill to Credit Management for an old paid cable collection a few months back. They removed it from all 3 bureaus w/ no problem. You might try that first.

Should I dispute the 4 collection accounts as "not mine" first or go goodwill?

Also- should I even bother to apply for credit at this point? What I really want to do is refinance my auto loan.
