I have been sitting in credit limbo (or purgatory, depends on how you look at it lol) and FINALLLY got back the equifax dispute back....We had a mortgage (with associates, now citifinancial) that was reporting late and it wasn't. Well the account has been updated to show it closed and all prior payment history was deleted!! So it shows up as an I1 NEVER late! WAHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! that was our biggest obsticle and now we're over that, it's smooth sailing here on out! Well ok not REALLY but the other stuff is easy to fix! WHEW! BTW, I disputed online! I wasn't expecting the results I got! They did however leave some stuff as open accts that are really paid off closed accts. But I'll get to those later. This forum is a HUGE help! THANK YOU ALL!!! Congratulations Atlanta Mom!!! Really good to hear what you were able to get through online dispute. Wonderful. Did you dispute it as never later with all three? Did they correct it in all three reports?
That is all that I have gotten so far (is the EQ one) So I'm not sure. We'll see in the next few weeks, what the other ones do! I'm hoping that they will all take it off, that would be WONDERFUL!! I have noticed, though, that it is MUCH easier to get accounts corrected with EQ than with the other 2....oh well one is better than none! lol I'll let you know if it is corrected with the other CRAs! Thanks! I'm really happy that it was this easy! lol
Actually, I have had a different experience with EQ. I started a dispute in all three for the same account, EQ came back in about a week saying this is your account and oc has verified. The other two are still investigating (or that is what they make me believe), so I think EQ is lying and they never went to the oc. If they had gone to the oc, it would have taken them a lot longer just in the mail time.
Yeah, I'm going through that with them now on an old CC acct. I call the CC Co today and they admitted that they can't find the account and don't know HOW EQ even verified it (read my other post about can't find acct yet reporting..). So I'm dealing with that on my report, but once that is taken care of I'm pretty much ok, until the other things fall off in the next 2 years!
