I called EQ the other day to have them remove invalid addresses, the CS rep on the phone saif no problem. I now check my report today, and notonly are the invalid addys still there, but now I'm 72 years old instead of 28. How the heck did this happen?

Thanks , I do look damn good for a senior citizen. I actually called them again today and asked them to change my D.O.B back to it's correct date, and they said I had to fax or mail them a copy of my birth certificate and social security card. I also attempted to correct my current address (I live in Europe, they have me listed in North Carolina) and they said they can't do that with out a copy of my current utility bill.

Normally, not a big deal, but DH is in the military and we live on base, therefore, we don't have a utility bill. They said, no problem, just have DH's commander write a letter saying we live here. Um, they are in Iraq right now, I think they are a bit busy.

One week into this, and I've already aged 44 years, and am homeless according to the CRA's.

    What's a girl to do?

As to sleeping to long, I only wish! I have a 2 year old, I'd kill for 8 hours sleep, much less 44 years. Just call me Rip Van Winkle.

If you're that old, make sure you get your senior citizens discounts!!

Seriously, I think if you go to the base (or whatever where you are) legal office, they could write a letter for you. They might have said it should be from his commander, but I'm betting they would accept one from JAG. Especially since it should be obvious it's from a lawyer!!!

Send them an old ocpy of your report with the correct age and ask THEM to provide a birth certificate that shows different.

    Cannoda,

Here's the rub, I asked the Customer Service Rep, why I was 28 yesterday and now I'm 72 today, and her response was that one of my creditors had changed the information. When I asked which one, she said "I don't know" When I stated that I have neither applied for new credit nor employment in the last 3 years, so how can any creditor have new info about my D.O.B. she said it was probably a miss key, but I have to provide proof of my D.O.B. nad it's EQ policy not to change personal info without supporting documentation.

I honestly think that the Customer non-service rep I spoke with on Wed. mucked around with my report just to hassel me. Because, on closer inspection, not only am I 72, but a new "name variation" has appeared.

You know, I thought I started with the easy stuff, names and addresses that are wrong.

I have a feeling that this journey is going to have one heck of a steep learning curve.

    Oh I like cannoda's idea.

But yep, JAG can send that, although that's a hell of a lot of trouble to go through when they had it correct the first time.

As I said in a previous post don´t worry about it, Relax!. The D of Birth will be fixed in a month or so when all your creditors reports the accounts.

Mine went from 1928 to my real date of birth in three weeks. I didn´t call Equifax. The same happens from time to time with the address on the report.
